What will your initial Corrective Exercise appointment and Postpartum Corrective Exercise appointment look like?

We work together to develop a tailored corrective exercise program that is virtual or in person (depending on availability) . No more than 3 exercises are given at any one time and it is a great supplement to your current exercise plan. Modifications will be made to your existing program if needed.  Physical Therapy services are not provided and the physical therapist role is personal training. Minimal equipment is required and everything will be reproducible in your home or hotel room. Since these appointments are not physical therapy services we can work with individuals all over the country and are not bound by the PT license. For example, all physical therapy appointments done virtually need to be in the State of Maryland, since that is where our therapists hold their license.  Since the Corrective Exercise Appointments are considered personal training anyone in the United States can make a virtual appointment.

Postpartum Exercise Programming
Are you a mom who has been cleared to resume physical activity by their doctor or a mom who is 15 plus years postpartum? If so, we specialize in exercise programming to help with diastasis recti and minimizing peeing your pants during physical activity. I can speak personally, that it is a real struggle sometimes to get back to being active after having a baby. Let us help you! If internal work is required or someone presents as a complex case we will refer you out to a pelvic floor Physical Therapist, since this is not our area of focus or specialty.

So much can be addressed with posture, breathing, learning pressure management, changing poor repetitive movement patterns, and appropriate strength training. My mentor Sara Duvall says it best. She says when working with postpartum moms we start with releasing muscle guarding, minimize holding the body in poor mechanical position, remold fascia and begin scar mobilization when appropriate, then follow the appropriate strength program to "meet your body where it is at."
